During the 17th and 18th century, British workers commenced grouping themselves into trade unions in order to fight for their rights as workers and humans. The trade union movement consists of the collective organisation of working people developed to represent and campaign for better working conditions and treatment from their employers and, by the implementation of labour and employment laws, from their governments. Trade Unions are basically associations of workers and are formed with the aim of protecting the workers against exploitation by their employers and also improving their living conditions. A trades union is a collection of people from different trades who want to keep and improve their jobs and their working and living conditions.
